In the production process of rubber bitumen, the control of temperature and time is important for the performance of the final product.

First, the control of temperature is directly related to the swelling and reaction process of rubber powder and matrix bitumen. According to reference information, the production of rubber bitumen needs to be carried out at a swelling temperature of 165~175℃. This temperature range can effectively promote the expansion of rubber particles and make them fully combined with the bitumen matrix. If the temperature is too low, the rubber powder may not be fully swelled, resulting in insufficient adhesion and elasticity of the final product; while too high a temperature may cause aging of the bitumen and affect its performance.

Secondly, time control is also crucial. During the production process, the mixing time of rubber bitumen is 45 minutes. During this period of time, the full mixing and reaction of rubber powder and bitumen can significantly improve the strength and viscosity of the product. If the mixing time is insufficient, the rubber powder may not fully react with the bitumen, resulting in substandard product performance; and too long a mixing time may lead to over-processing of the material, affecting its physical properties. By adjusting the temperature and time, the viscosity and strength of rubber bitumen can be optimized. For example, during the production process, if it is found that the viscosity of the final product does not meet the design requirements, it can be considered to heat and mix at a specified temperature (such as 190~218℃) for 45 minutes to promote further swelling and reaction of the rubber powder.

In addition, if the viscosity still does not meet the standard, an additional 10% of rubber powder can be added and mixed at the corresponding temperature to improve the performance of the final product.

In summary, the control of temperature and time is crucial in the production of rubber bitumen. Reasonable parameter settings can effectively improve the viscosity, strength and durability of the product, thereby meeting the needs of engineering applications.
